

Artist, Teacher of Cello
BUI HA MIEN
Bui Ha Mien was born into a musical family and commenced her cello studies with her mother at the age of six. In 1992, she enrolled at the National Music Academy of Vietnam, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Cello Performance in 2007.
Throughout her academic tenure, she was selected to participate in various international youth orchestras, such as the Southeast Asia Youth Orchestra (Thailand), the International Summer Music Academy in Guangdong (China), and the Asian Youth Orchestra (Hong Kong). Bui Ha Mien was granted scholarships to attend the International Summer Academy in Vienna, Austria (2017), and pursue postgraduate studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (2018-2019).
As a member of the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra and the Hanoi Chamber Orchestra, she has had the privilege to collaborate with renowned composers and artists. She has performed in major cities across Vietnam and numerous countries including France, Germany, Spain, Austria, the United States, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, and China.
In 2021, she collaborated with composer Ad Van Dongen (Netherlands) and released her debut solo album "Romance in Hanoi".
In 2023, she unveiled her second album "Mien - when the cello sings". As a member of the Vietnamese Musicians Association, Bui Ha Mien actively participates in the organization's major artistic programs and competitions.
As a cello lecturer at the National Music Academy of Vietnam, she also serves as a mentor for young orchestral musicians and is frequently invited to conduct masterclasses and trainings for music programs at international institutions.
