CRESCENDO ORCHESTRA
With the aim of continuously enhancing artistic quality and deepening the performance experience for contestants, the Crescendo International Music Festival & Competition 2026 continues to develop the Orchestra category as a key professional focus of the competition. This category is not merely an evaluative component, but an artistic practice space where contestants have the opportunity to engage directly with an orchestra, a conductor, and a professional performance stage that meets international standards.

Featuring two distinct orchestras, CIMFC 2026 introduces two independent orchestral models, each with its own artistic and educational function. This structure is designed to accommodate the diverse experiential needs of contestants across different age groups and levels of proficiency.
FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA
The Festival Orchestra, comprising 25 members, is conceived with a flexible and contemporary orientation. Its repertoire focuses on creatively arranged and orchestrated works that are accessible to young contestants while still maintaining aesthetic value and academic rigor.
The Festival Orchestra repertoire clearly reflects a spirit of dialogue between tradition and modernity, from iconic classical works rich in imagery to refined arrangements of exemplary classical Sonatinas, alongside well-known, emotionally resonant film melodies, as well as familiar Vietnamese folk tunes newly arranged and orchestrated.

All works in the Festival Orchestra category are treated with distinctive harmonic approaches, creating vivid and energetic performances while helping contestants develop early ensemble awareness and a deeper sense of connection between individual expression and collective orchestral collaboration.
competition orchestra
In parallel, the orchestra dedicated to the Competition Category of CIMFC 2026 is organized with an ensemble of nearly 45 musicians and led by an international conductor, providing a standard symphonic–chamber performance environment for contestants at intermediate, advanced, and professional levels.
In addition to well-known works frequently selected in international competitions—such as The Blue Danube by Johann Strauss II and Concerto Romantique by Cécile Rollin—the CIMFC 2026 repertoire in Competion Orchestra category is further expanded to include a wide range of significant concertos spanning different musical periods. Notable examples include works by Edvard Grieg, George Gershwin’s Concerto in F, Felix Mendelssohn’s Concerto No. 1 in G minor, and Robert Schumann’s Concerto in A minor. The updating and expansion of this repertoire aim to provide candidates with broader exposure to diverse musical styles, enhance their ability to work with an orchestra and conductor, and foster a well-rounded approach to concerto performance.
